Gravity 2.0 ES Society Conducts Round Table Discussion on Leveraging Language Banks or Regional Languages for Technical Skill Development
Gravity 2.0, the regional planning and development forum organized a round table on technical skill development. The educatiional and skills society of Gravity 2.0, G2-ESS brought together experts from all fields to understand how India can leverage its many languages to promote technical skills leading to greater innovation and more manufacturing startups.
The Education and Skills Society of Gravity 2.0, The Regional Planning and Development Forum, today conducted a Gravity 2.0 Round Table on leveraging Telugu for technical skill development. The Round Table was attended by several volunteer members of Gravity 2.0 as well as senior professors from engineering colleges in the city.
The Round Table had a focused discussion on technical skill development, especially for promoting high-end manufacturing activity in the Greater Vizag Bay region. Mr. M.S. Rao, IAS, Development Commissioner, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone, Chief Guest for the event, speaking on the occassion said "volunteer organizations such as Gravity 2.0 can play a significant role in the economic development of the region, especially by focusing on specific goals where results can be achieved in the near term".
Mr. Gopi Kumar Bulusu, founding member of Gravity 2.0 and CEO at Sankhya Technologies, said -- "Gravity 2.0 which started in June 2011, is focused on the inclusive growth of the Greater Vizag Bay Region. Every one of the top 10 developed economies in the world extensively use their native languages for education and learning; we had a useful discussion that gives us insights into the next step in leveraging the language bank of this country."
Mr. M P Dubey, Joint Director, STPI said -- "there is a need to bring out more technical content in Telugu and other Indian languages."
The education and skills society will shortly prepare and circulate a report based on the discussion.
